Proposta do Iasb e a Dor de Cabeça do Ministro das Finanças

Segundo o Daily Yomiuri (Intl accounting review could endanger bonds, Hiroshi Arimitsu / Yomiuri Shimbun, 20/7/2009, 7) a proposta do Iasb em simplificar a contabilidade dos instrumentos financeiros pode trazer dor de cabeça para o Ministro das Finanças em razão do montante enorme de títulos governamentais.

Conforme postado aqui, o Iasb anunciou recentemente uma minuta de norma alterando a contabilidade dos instrumentos financeiros.

Segundo a notícia, o Vice Ministro das Finanças Yasutake Tango afirmou que

"It can't be ruled out that future changes in accounting standards might affect judgments by financial institutions on how much in government bonds they should hold.

"Though it's only at the proposal stage right now, the government needs to study this problem through dialogue with the market." Tango's comments suggest the ongoing IASB review of accounting standards of financial instruments could hurt private-sector government bond purchases.
