Irão mudar a Exxon?

Um grupo de acionistas, liderados pelo Riskmetrics Group, tenta mudar os rumos da Exxon Mobil Corp (Rockefellers Receive Boost in Exxon Fight, Stephanie Simon, The Wall Street Journal, 9/5/2008, p. C4). A empresa é conhecida pela aversão pelo lado "ambiental". Entretanto, os acionistas desejam que a empresa tenha uma maior preocupação com a energia renovável.

The RiskMetrics report, however, concludes that most of Exxon's competitors -- including Chevron Corp., Royal Dutch Shell PLC and British Petroleum PLC -- have made greater commitments to renewable energy. "The company's current policy on renewables ... has led to substantial reputational damage for Exxon Mobil relative to its peers," the report stated.
