U.S. SEC mulls international accounting standards

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission took a step on Wednesday toward considering whether U.S. companies could file their financial data using international accounting standards.
The SEC voted 5-0 in favor of publishing and seeking comment on a paper that examines the future of International Financial Reporting Standards, or IFRS, in the United States.
