Japão aprova proteção aos prejudicados com fraudes

Segundo a Kyodo News (Diet approves amendment to fine audit firms involved in accounting fraud) o parlamento japonês aprovou lei ajudando os clientes corporativos que foram prejudicados com fraudes contábeis.

"The amendment to the Certified Public Accountants Law, which passed the House of Representatives, the lower house of Japan's bicameral parliament, early this month, cleared the House of Councillors. It will come into force around April 2008.

The legislation, stiffening controls on auditing firms, is designed to prevent auditors from developing cozy ties with client companies."

Esta legislação é decorrente de recentes escÂndalos contábeis no Japão, como é o caso da indústria de coméstico Kanebo e da empresa Nikko Cordial Corp.
